The House of Human Sciences Foundation (FMSH) is launching a new programme named as International Research Scholarships in the Social and Human Sciences for the academic session 2024/2025.
This scholarship aims to support the creation or strengthening of international research networks to enable scientific communities to be more structured, collaborate, and give greater visibility to their work.
Founded in 1963 by Fernand Braudel in Paris, the Foundation Maison des sciences de l’homme (FMSH) supports research and knowledge dissemination in the field of humanities and social sciences. The Foundation fosters innovative research, encourages interdisciplinary dialogue, and promotes the circulation of researchers and knowledge. It offers a diverse roster of programs that promote cooperation between researchers and institutions at a national and international scale, facilitate incoming and outgoing mobility of researchers and foster the creation of research networks on important public issues.

Eligibility
- Eligible Countries: All nationalities.
- Eligible Course or Subjects: Research degree in social and human sciences offered by the university.
- Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
- The call is open to researchers from all disciplines in the humanities and social sciences, starting from the PhD level and to research centers. The coordinator must be associated or affiliated with a French research institution or higher education establishment that will host the project for its duration. The other network members may be doctoral students, post-doctoral fellows, or researchers without affiliation in France or abroad.
How to Apply
- How to Apply: Applications for FMSH are accepted through its online application portal and enter the Project workspace. Students will be considered based on their admission applications.
- Supporting Documents: The application file must include the following documents:
- A detailed presentation of the network (10,000 characters maximum) describing the composition of the network, the scientific project, and the planned activities;
- CVs of the coordinator and team members, including publications (maximum three pages per CV)
- Bibliography related to the project;
- A provisional budget with a detailed calendar (activities may start in January 2024 at the earliest)
- Admission Requirements: Applicants must hold a master’s degree certificate.
- Language Requirement: Students need to demonstrate that they have a good written and spoken English level.
Benefits
The university will provide all the following benefits:
- Financial support is granted for two to three years for a total amount between 5 000€ and 30 000€ over the period.
- This support is intended to cover expenses related to the network’s activities (travel, meetings, workshops, etc.) but does not cover personnel costs or salaries.
- A funding contract will be established between the FMSH and the network coordinator’s institution.
