Apply for “ASEAN Tourism Scholarship at Taylor’s University in Malaysia, 2024/2025”
Taylor’s University is pleased to offer ASEAN Tourism Scholarship to pursue master and PhD programme. The scholarship is available for Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, and Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam students.
The aim of the scholarship is to produce graduates of responsible character with the necessary knowledge and skills for professional and national leadership
Taylor’s University (commonly referred to as Taylor’s) is a private university in Malaysia. It was awarded university college status in 2006, and university status in 2010.
Course Level: The scholarship is available to pursue master and PhD programme.
Study Subject: The scholarship is awarded on areas related/ relevant on ASEAN tourism.
Scholarship Award: The scholarship will cover the following:
PhD
- 100% tuition fee waiver for a maximum of 36 months / 3 years full-time studies
- 100% thesis examination fee waiver
- Monthly stipend of RM 2300 – RM 2800
- Settling-in allowance of RM 1500 (International student only)
- Conference allowance of RM 600
Master
- 75% tuition fee waiver for a maximum of 24 months full-time studies
- 100% thesis examination fee waiver
- Monthly stipend of RM 1500

Scholarship can be taken in Malaysia
Eligibility: Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Master
- Bachelor’s Degree with CGPA 3.00 from any recognized local/foreign universities
- Research proposal must relate and relevant to the ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan (ATSP) 2016 – 2025 priority areas
- Below 45 years of age at the time of application
- Secured offer letter of Master’s Degree by research admission at Taylor’s University
- Applicable to candidates on full-time mode only
- Interview and written assessment are required
PhD
- Bachelor’s Degree with CGPA 3.33 AND Master’s Degree (Coursework / Mixed mode) with CGPA 3.50 or by Research mode from any recognized local/foreign universities
- Research proposal must relate and relevant to the ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan (ATSP) 2016 – 2025 priority areas
- Below 45 years of age at the time of application
- Secured offer letter of PhD admission at Taylor’s University
- Applicable to candidates on full-time mode only
- Applicants with publications in Citation Index Journals (CIJ) will have an added advantage
- Interview and written assessment are required
Nationality: Applicants of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam are eligible for the scholarship.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have bachelor’s degree.
English Language Requirement: Students must include supporting evidence of English proficiency if the first language is not English, or if the undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree was not taught entirely in the English language. The supporting evidence can be fulfilled in one of the following forms:
- International English Language Test (IELTS)
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
- Malaysian University English Test (MUET)
- Taylor’s Intensive English Programme
