The European Master Crossing the Mediterranean: towards Investment and Integration (MIM) is inviting applications for Visiting Scholar Programme.
The new two-year MIM course intends to maintain and reinforce this successful collaboration pattern, and the MIM Consortium is now seeking the collaboration of high-profile, external scholars.
The European Master Crossing the Mediterranean: towards Investment and Integration (MIM) is a two-year study programme jointly offered by Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia (Venice), Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Barcelona) and Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier(Montpellier).
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing master’s programme.
Study Subject: Applications are welcomed for the following area of expertise:
- EU Immigration and Asylum Law and Policy
- Government and social movements/Turkey
- Social policy and Gender/Egypt
Scholarship can be taken in France, Italy and Spain
Eligibility:
(1) EU Immigration and Asylum Law and Policy
- PhD in Public Law or related fields;
- Very good knowledge of English or French (the languages of instruction);
- Experience in scientific research;
- Experience in lecturing EU policies and regulation on migration and asylum;
- Experience in supervising students in the areas of European migration law.
(2) Government and social movements/Turkey
- PhD in Political Science or related fields;
- Very good knowledge of English or French (the languages of instruction);
- Experience in scientific research;
- Experience in lecturing on contemporary political changes in Turkey;
- Experience in supervising students in the areas of (contemporary) political situation in Turkey.
(3) Social policy and Gender/Egypt
- PhD in Political Science or related fields;
- Very good knowledge of English or French (the languages of instruction);
- Experience in scientific research;
- Experience in lecturing on comparative policy, integrating analysis of gender relations;
- Experience in supervising students in the areas of public policy and gender issues.
Nationality: Citizens of Europe are eligible to apply.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have a University academic qualification of at least three years (Bachelor’s Degree), or a post-secondary school qualification of at least three years awarded by a non-university higher education institution which, in the country of issue, is considered sufficient to undertake higher-level university studies. For European students, the degree should be a minimum of three years and correspond to 180 ECTS. The degree/qualification should be in the fields of Sociology, Political Sciences, Social Geography, Communication Sciences, Anthropology, Economics, Languages, Intercultural Studies, Humanities, History, Law, International relations, Development studies, Mediterranean studies. The MIM Selection Committee will assess the relevance of the degree/qualification case-by-case. For non-EU degrees/qualifications, the MIM Selection Committee will also evaluate the Certificate of Equivalence of Qualification (Dichiarazione di Valore), a certificate issued by the Italian diplomatic representative in the country where the degree/qualification was obtained. Applicants in the last year of their bachelor’s degree may apply only if they expect to graduate not later than April if they are from a Partner Country, and not later than July if they are from a Programme Country. To be eligible for further selection, Partner Country applicants must obtain their bachelor’s degree by the aforementioned date ( April), produce (if required) the Certificate of Equivalence of Qualification (Dichiarazione di Valore) issued by the Italian Diplomatic Representative, and apply for the visa and the permit of stay in good time. It is up to the applicants to contact the Italian Consulate/Embassy to verify if they are required to present the Certificate of Equivalence of Qualification/Dichiarazione di Valore.
Test Requirement: No
English Language Requirement: Applicants shall be proficient in English at level B2 and French at level B1 of the CEFR, and shall produce a recognised certification of the required levels. The certification for the French language must be produced before 31 March 2018 (end of the UNIVE term).
The knowledge of English and French will be also tested during the interview.

- A cover letter with the applicant’s track record and a proposal of the foreseen teaching activities (objectives, content, methodology, tools), including a description of the added value which the applicant intends to bring to the programme with respect to student-centred teaching/lecturing, research activities and academic/professional networking.
